Deaconess Young-Sook Choi (Age 68, Parish 2-16)
For 16 years, I suffered from tetanus by which I was infected while pruning grapevines. My entire body was stiffened like a dry piece of wood. I couldn’t cured despite all kinds of medicine. I also had allergic rhinitis, backache, and gastroenteritis troubles.
By the way, I belonged to ‘Jehovah’s witness,’ and I took pride in the knowledge of the Bible. Not many pastors could put me down in the knowledge of the Bible.
In 2003, a senior at my work led me to Manmin Central Church which was introduced as a church where God’s healing takes place. I was surprised to see how bright the sanctuary was and how happy the church members looked.
The sermons Dr. Jaerock Lee delivered were easy to understand and full of grace. The words of God that I learned in ‘Jehovah’s witness’ were informational and fragmentary, but Dr. Jaerock Lee taught how to make spirit and soul prosper, and he himself practiced what he taught. I admitted that God was working in the church.
Soon, I attended Daniel Prayer Meeting where thousands of church members prayed earnestly. On the very day, God’s grace came upon me. I rendered my heart in repentance, I burst into tears, and I felt washed in cool water from head to toe. I felt reborn. On top of that, all kinds of pain including from tetanus disappeared. Hallelujah!
From then, I felt refreshed. I felt joyful and grateful all day and everyday. Praises came out automatically. I prayed without ceasing, and I also became a cell leader the next year. When I prayed for my neighbors with the handkerchief (Acts 19:11-12) on which Dr. Jaerock Lee prayed, I experienced the power of God many times.
When I prayed, an acquaintance who couldn’t move in a hospital woke, my mother who was badly sick became normal; one who hurt arms from an accident, one with ruptured ribs, and one with herniated disc were healed, and they glorified God. Through these experiences, I became more confident in my faith, and managed my Christian life with joy. I was certified as a lifelong educator, a social welfare worker, and many others. I also got bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology. I didn’t make my age an excuse, but I believed that I could do everything by the grace of God.
God healed all of my diseases, and He keeps me healthy. God helps me live my life of challenge by faith that I can do it. I give all thanks and glory to God.
