[Easter Special] Resurrected body and heavenly body

Jesus died on the cross to atone for mankind’s sins, overcame death, and resurrected on the third day. Our Savior Jesus Christ stayed with His disciples for 40 days in the resurrected body and ascended into heaven in front of approximately 500 people. He will return on the clouds of glory.


Our resurrection on the Lord’s second coming in the Air

The Lord Jesus resurrected on the third day of His crucifixion and burial and appeared before His disciples, thereby planting the hope for resurrection into their hearts. He let them know what the resurrected body is like. Resurrected bodies do not die nor rot. The resurrected body has unlimited access in the physical space. In the resurrected body, we can touch, breathe, eat and drink (John 20:19-29; Luke 24:42-43).

After ascending into heaven, the Lord has been preparing our heavenly dwelling places and will come again in the Air to take us into heaven. On the day the bodies of those who are saved but buried will be resurrected and lifted up into the Air and be combined with their spirits that have come down there from heaven along with the Lord. The combination of the resurrected bodies and spirits are referred to as believers’ resurrection. After that, those who are saved and alive will be transformed into imperishable bodies and lifted up into the Air to meet the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:51-53).

On the day, regardless of prior earthly age or gender, all the believers will wear the resurrected body of 33 years of age. They have slightly wavy, blonde hair with the height of approximately 170cm for females and 190cm for males. The reason why they have a resurrected body of age 33 is because our Lord Jesus fulfilled His earthly ministry at 33. The age of 33 is also considered as the pinnacle of one’s life and those at 33 appear the most beautiful and well-cultivated and mature.


Spiritual bodies and heavenly bodies

One’s ‘spiritual body’ refers to a form of his/her own spirit. 1 Corinthians 15:39 reads, “All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish.” All the living organisms have their own flesh that are unique and not the same. In the same way, each one’s spirit also has their own spiritual body that can be distinguished as their own unique form.
Each believer’s spiritual body differs depending on when they physically died and how sanctified they became. For example, if a believing child comes to death, they will have a spiritual body of childhood. If a believing teenager dies, they will have a spiritual body of teenage. The same goes for a believing adult.
Those who are saved but dead are staying in the Waiting Place of Paradise in the spiritual bodies, longing for the day of the Lord’s second coming in the Air and their resurrection. When the Lord comes again in the Air, they will accompany Him in a spiritual body and combine with their resurrected bodies that are lifted up there from the Earth. They will be followed by those who are saved and alive on the Earth, and all of them will have the seven-year wedding banquet in the Air along with the Lord. And when the Lord comes down again to the Earth, they will accompany and reign with Christ for a thousand years (Revelation 19:1-20:10). After that the Great White Throne Judgement will be held, and those saved wear heavenly bodies and enter their own heavenly dwelling place for eternal bliss in the magnificent kingdom of heaven (Revelation 21-22).


Resurrected bodies vs heavenly bodies

What is the difference between a resurrected body and a heavenly body?
A heavenly body is a perfection of our spiritual body, and is above a resurrected body. The brilliance of a heavenly body represents the degree of sanctification, and reveals the reward, glory, and authority received from God at the Great White Throne Judgement. Just at the sight of each one’s heavenly body in heaven, we can discern how deep they loved God, the extent of their obedience to the Word, and the degree of their loyalty and devotion, and we can guess how glorious their dwelling place is and the volume of their rewards and glory in heaven.


Reason for a resurrected body prior to a heavenly body

What is the reason that we have the intermediate process of a resurrected body prior to a heavenly body?
The kingdom of heaven for our eternal dwelling place and the Air for the seven-year wedding banquet are different in the density and the passage of time of each space. And a resurrected body in the Air and the Millennium Kingdom is totally different from a spiritual body that stays in the Waiting Place in Paradise. A spiritual body feels like a dream, but a resurrected body feels like a reality. It is necessary for those saved to go through the period of adjustment such as a spiritual body in the Waiting Place in Paradise and a resurrected body in the Air and in the Millennium Kingdom prior to living in the eternal kingdom of heaven in a heavenly body.
