“… but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom, which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1 Corinthians 2:7-8)
A spiritual law reads in Romans 6:23, “the wages of sin is death” and death does not come to him who never sins. However, the enemy devil crucified Jesus to death though He was without sin or blemish (1 Peter 2:22-23). The devil broke the law of the spiritual world and fell into his own trick. He became a tool in the fulfillment of God’s predestined plan for human salvation. As prophesied in Genesis 3:15, it was just the same how the seed of the woman bruised the serpent on the head. A snake does not lose its strength even if it is trampled on the tail or a part of the body is cut off. However, when the head is bruised, it cannot move. In a spiritual sense, ‘I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head’ means that the enemy devil will be defeated and lose its authority by Jesus Christ.’ When the devil killed sinless Jesus, it was a violation broke the law of the spiritual world and the devil had no choice but to give up his authority to rule over mankind and to bring death on them, and the believers in Jesus Christ were released from him. Jesus died on the cross by wicked people, but as He had no sin, He overcame death and resurrected. Therefore, anyone who believes in Him who died on the cross without sin and was risen is released from the power of death and the devil and enter heaven (Romans 5:18-19). The devil tried to hold his power over the world by killing Jesus with his evil scheme, but God knew it in advance and predestined the plan for human salvation before the ages. If the enemy devil had known this secret wisdom of God in advance, he would never have killed sinless Jesus (1 Corinthians 2:8). God had kept His plan for salvation completely in secret until it was completely fulfilled through Jesus’ crucifixion so that the enemy devil might not know about it. Jesus is one with God and knew this providence, so He completely obeyed God’s will to the point of crucifixion and completed the providence of salvation. Through the faith in Jesus Christ who was crucified and resurrected, anyone can become united with the Lord and receive salvation by the grace of God as recorded in Ephesians 2:8 and Romans10:10. What then does it mean by becoming one with the Lord through faith? In John 6:56, Jesus said, “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.” Eating the flesh and drinking the blood of the Son of Man means making a spiritual bread of His words and act upon them. Those who prove their faith by making a spiritual bread of His words recorded in the Bible and practice them abide in the Lord and the Lord in them. Of course, it is not easy for beginners in faith to keep His words of truth completely. However, when they make all efforts to keep them, it is counted as faith by God. In brief, when you make a bread of God’s words and practice them and then resemble Lord, you can become united with Him through faith. If you truly believe in the Lord, you will naturally believe in His words and practice them. When you keep them walk in the light, which refers to God who is light and His words, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7), and you can live in God’s protection and blessings until you reach heaven. God is love and prepared Jesus Christ for the way of salvation so that mankind can attain salvation through faith. God kept it hidden in secret since before the ages until the destined time and Jesus completed it through the love of the cross. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ receives the Holy Spirit can gain salvation, resurrection, eternal life, and the citizenship of heaven. < To be continued >
