Five years ago, I had a hearing test at an otolaryngology clinic because I could not hear sounds well, and I was diagnosed with “congenital hearing loss.” The doctor said that if this difficulty continued, I might eventually need to wear hearing aids. In particular, I often could not clearly hear moderately loud voices or the ends of words, so I would misunderstand what was said or have to ask people to repeat themselves. I felt frustrated each time. I felt at a loss at the thought that I might have to wear hearing aids, but because I believed in God’s power, I came to have a strong desire to be healed at the Manmin Summer Retreat. During worship services, I received Pastor Soojin Lee’s sermons as messages God was giving me, and I repented of the things I had failed to obey and the lack of earnestness in my heart. I listened again to The Message of the Cross sermon series and prepared for the summer retreat by fasting and attending the Special Daniel Prayer Meeting. On Day 1 of the summer retreat, during the pre-service praise time for the arrival service, I was deeply moved in my heart, and I felt the fullness of the Holy Spirit, along with a refreshing sensation running through my whole body. The lyrics, “See the desolation of this land,” and “Heal this land,” touched my heart as if they were a prayer for me. As I became deeply aware of my shortcomings and wrongdoings, repentance came from deep within my heart, and I laid down my heart before God with tears. While I was receiving prayer after the message, something amazing happened. Suddenly, I heard a “pop” in my right ear, and I felt as if the blockage had been partially cleared. I began to hear voices more clearly than before. Later, during the evening service, as I received Pastor Soojin Lee’s prayer for the sick, the sounds became even clearer. I could hear moderately loud voices and the ends of words, which had been difficult for me to hear, more clearly than before. Hallelujah! I give all thanks and glory to Father God who healed me.
