On July 5 this year, I registered at Manmin Central Church after being evangelized by Deacon Noh Seong-geum, a friend from my hometown. Although she was a close friend and had shared the gospel with me several times before, I was hesitant to go. But seeing how severely bent my back was, she kept encouraging me, saying, “If you come to our church, your back can straighten, and your long-standing digestive problems can also be healed.” Eventually, I decided to give it a try and went with her.
I had suffered from severe spinal stenosis for many years while running a restaurant. My back began to bend little by little several years ago, and two or three years ago, it had bent almost 90 degrees, forcing me to walk looking down at the ground all the time. Even with a cane, I had to stop and rest after walking about ten steps, and at night, the pain was so severe that I could hardly sleep.

Because my back was so severely bent, I also had difficulty digesting food. In addition, because I often drank alcohol while running my restaurant, I developed digestive problems, making it difficult to eat meals properly. I was in constant pain. Yet the moment I first entered Manmin Central Church, I felt so peaceful. I loved the warm care of the members in my parish, but above all, Pastor Soojin Lee’s sermon messages really touched my heart. I decided, “I should keep attending this church.”
After that, every Sunday, I placed my hands on my back and abdomen and earnestly received Pastor Soojin Lee’s prayer for the sick. One day, a week before the summer retreat, my daughter looked at me and exclaimed in surprise, “Mom, your back has straightened!” My back, which had been bent almost 90 degrees had begun to straighten. I was so amazed and grateful to see this change in less than a month after registering at the church.
My fellow church members encouraged me to attend the summer retreat, offering to pay the registration fee instead. So I attended the retreat for the first time with an earnest heart. On August 3, the first day of the summer retreat, as I received Pastor Soojin Lee’s prayer for the sick at the divine healing meeting, I felt an overwhelming peace and was deeply moved. After the prayer, my back straightened even more. I took a picture and sent it to my daughter, and she was overjoyed, saying, “It’s a miracle!”
The amazing change was not limited to my back. During the retreat, I felt much more comfortable in my stomach at every meal, and even when I ate foods that would have caused indigestion before, I no longer had acid reflux. These changes continued even after I returned home. The digestive problems that had bothered me for a long time improved, so I can now digest food well without any bloating or pain. My stomach feels so comfortable after meals that I can eat regularly.
In just a month and a half since I came to Manmin Central Church, there has been much change. Now, even when I walk for 30 to 40 minutes, my back doesn’t hurt. It feels as though I have been given a new life and am living a second life. I give all thanks and glory to the living God who straightened my bent back and healed the digestive problems that had bothered me for so long.
